When we went up to Pittsburgh, Ava had a present for Eliana and they were new Flip Flops! ELiana loves to be in flip flops and these were something like I have never seen before. My crafty cousin Lisa made them!!! I promised Ava that when Eliana would wear them I would post pictures so she was able to see them :) Here you go Ava - Thank you soooo much for thinking of Eliana and we can't wait to play with you in July!!!

Co-pilots

On our trip to Pittsburgh we had a stop in Maryland. As we were waiting for the other passangers to board the plane Eliana was very curious of the cockpit since it was open and you really never see it open anymore. So I told her that is where the pilot sits when he flies the plane and the flight attendant said that we were able to go up closer if we would like. So we went closer and another flight attendant said that we were able to go ahead and go into the cockpit. This caught me off gaurd but in we went and the pilot was wonderful. He let Eliana sit down and push some of the controls and the accelerator. He explained what a few of the controls did. He also wanted her to said Hi to baba over the radio but she was way to shy to do that! I wish she would have done that - Fadi would of loved it!! The pilot asked if I had a camera and I said, "of course- I never go anywhere without it". He let me sit in his seat and he took our picture!!!

Eliana was watching Fadi while he was outside watering the trees. This is why she is behind the curtain. She was signing along with her new build a bear to the Jonas brothers :) I tried to get a face shot but I did not want to risk getting caught!!

Eliana was on the balance beam today ALL BY HERSELF and boy was she proud of that!!! At dinner every night we ask eachother what are good and bad parts of the day were and this was her "good part".

We are also working on her focusing on herself and not other people around her...she is so nosey:)

E - can I have a snack when we get home?
A - sure, you can have a mandarin or carrots.
E - umm I will have a mandarin because I can already see good and you told me that eating carrots will help me see better. :)

Happy Easter

It is 7:30 am we are woken up to Eliana jumping on the bed and whispered "happy easter - did the easter bunny come to our house yet" We said that we didn't know since we were sleeping. After making sure everything was in place inside and outside, we said that she was able to check it out! Luckily we were able to get everything on video and if you pay attention - nothing gets passed this little one!!

Where does she come from.....

I was painting Eliana's nails after dinner. She wanted her nails and toes to match her easter dress and new shoes. I am wearing my bathing suit cover-up because we had went swimming today and as I am hunched over painting her nails she says to me and serious as she can be ..."ang - you know that if people see your boobies then thats bad business " I almost fell off the chair!! I was laughing so hard!!

here a few more dialogues that have had us on the floor...

Background: Fadi and I were arguing about his scheduling conflicts and she could sense that I was pretty upset.
Fadi: I am sorry angela
Eliana: Baba - ang does not want to hear sorry, that does not make her feel any better. :)
How could I be upset anymore after that 1 liner!!!

Background: We were eating dinner at the mall a few months ago and Fadi and I were talking about wedding plans and we clearly had disagreed about something and we were both mad!!
Eliana puts her food down and says...
E - (talking with her hands like a true Italian) Baba - do you want to marry her or not because you are not being very nice!
F - where did you come from
E - I came from you!
Again, how could we of stayed mad after that :)

I will make more of an effort to post these little dialogues because I think they are worth treasuring!!

Date Night - Baba Style

I had a much need night out with a couple of my girlfriends and Fadi took this oppurtunity to spend some quality one on one time with Eliana. So he took her to International Mall and had her first experience at Build a Bear. Eliana received a gift card from some very dear friends of my parents for her birthday and she was so excited to make her very own special bear. So off to Build A Bear and then dinner. He thought for sure that she would chose pizza but she said to him "baba - I think we should have Chick-Fil-A instead because I know we will probably have pizza tomorrow when me and ang go to becca's house and I don't want to have pizza two days together" :) How my girl thinks ahead now!!! SO after dinner, Fadi took her to the movies and they saw "How to train a dragon". I think that is a pretty awesome date - if I do say so myself! I was able to see this famous bear when I got home and let me tell you that she HOOKED this bear up!! Well her name is officially Amber and she has a beating heart AND sings a few Jonas Brothers songs!!!

So it is no secret that Eliana talks to herself and likes to sing. I finally was able to catch the tail end of her shower where she was doing both! We are proud that she can entirely bathe herself. Yes there are times when I am brushing her hair that I find she has "forgot" to rinse the front half of her head but a little extra shampoo never hurt anyone right?! And besides, at least we know she is clean!

TWISTER

We bought Eliana the game Twister and let me tell you - she was more than excited to play!! This girl can twist her little body allllll around! Please excuse her little heiney :) Fadi played with her the first game - he cheated of course and then quit!! Eliana continued to have fun all on her own :)
